About the Sponsoring Institution
The First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, founded in 1939 as the Affiliated Hospital of Zhongzheng Medical College, is one of China’s first batch of Grade III-A (tertiary) hospitals, integrating medical care, teaching, research, preventive health care, health management, and health promotion.
The hospital maintains a comprehensive range of medical specialties, including 13 national key clinical specialties, 24 provincial key clinical specialties, and 32 provincial leading medical disciplines. It hosts the Jiangxi Provincial Medical Center for Major Public Health Events and serves as the National Emergency Medical Rescue Base (Jiangxi).
The hospital operates 8 subcenters of national clinical research centers and 12 provincial key laboratories. It has led major national science and technology projects, including the National Key R&D Program, and has won 3 National Science and Technology Awards as the lead institution.
